Set in the summer resort community of Lake George, New York and surrounded by the breathtaking Adirondack Mountains and the shoreline of beautiful Lake George itself – the Lake George Music Festival (LGMF) is a collaborative artist retreat for advanced young professionals. Musicians attend solely as a way to advance intellectually, artistically, and professionally; working closely together in a tight-knit community and nurturing atmosphere.
LGMF bridges the gap between faculty and students – there are no teachers or students, private lessons, master classes or organized studios. Rather, our unique roster of like-minded peers collaborate together in chamber music ensembles, a full orchestral setting, and cutting-edge concerts; providing a destination for classical and new music for Lake George locals and visitors.
LIFE AT LAKE GEORGE
Performances and rehearsals take place in a variety of venues throughout Lake George. Meals and other musician community functions take place in Lake George’s centrally located St. James Church. Space is available here to rest and relax as well as for practice.
